  • Group alerts will send alerts to google groups at 28 days

Alerts per QC report will first notify individual machine assignees, and then relevant groups when an instrument is due for a QC within a given timeframe.

MyMachinesOnly alerts

This type of alert works based on a custom view where "Show My Machines Only" = true. This looks at Jira instrument data to see who the assignee of a machine is. 

The downside with this alert approach is that individual assignees need to be manually added to receive themthe alert recipients field.

Not getting MyMachinesOnly alerts?

• Check to see if that you are set as the assignee to of the instrument in question in JIRA.
• Ask analytics to check the alert to see if your name is on it. (Admin links: Leaktest, Artel)

Group alerts

Group alerts work by sending alerts for saved custom views based by department (e.g. view = "WGS" in the Instrument QC report) and having those custom views send alerts to a single google group.to relevant role account users. These saved custom views are created for each value in the Department field in Jira.

Google group users that want to be included in this setup need to contact BITS and request a role account for that google group so that Tableau may discover it. (example ticket request 1, example 2):

Hello BITS, could the role account/google group (provide email address here) be added to AD? It's for the (insert group) that wants to receive alerts from Tableau Server.
