Vocabulary Server API/Library
An API to programmatically query TIM for synonyms and subclass/superclass relationships.
Users: Curation & Mapping Tools (including for validation), data catalogs, browsers, cohort builders
This supports mapping between datasets or to TIM and enables browsers and cohort builders to leverage TIM and recommended ontologies. The API addresses queries such as:
What are the subclasses of cell type “hepatopoietic cell” in the Cell Ontology?
Find the best match for “zebra fish” in our species ontologies.
Is “lower grade glioma” a subclass of “brain cancer”?
Is “taxon:9606” a valid ontology id? Return the preferred name.

Data Model Exporter
Exports JSON Schema version of the TIM.
Status: Prototype available in github
Curation & Mapping Tools
Several tools are under evaluation to aid in curation & generating a machine-readable mapping file.
Status: Work-in-progress
Metadata Workbench
Generates data dictionary or template spreadsheets based on TIM.
Status: Planning stages
